BRUCE TRAIL HIKING WIARTON
The Bruce Trail runs through Wiarton on it's way up the Bruce Peninsula to Tobermory. The Trails run along the Niagara Escarpment giving hikers a magnificent view of Georgian Bay . Visit our hiking pages here
VISIT THE BRUCE CAVES NEAR WIARTON
Bruce Caves - Bruce's Caves Conservation Area derives its greatest significance from the unique cave formations found along the escarpment face. These caves were formed by the wave action of post-glacial Lake Algonquin, 7,000 to 8,000 years ago
BEACHES NEAR WIARTON
Bluewater Park - in Wiarton has a small sand beach wear you can lie in the sun and chill out in the fresh clean waters of Georgian Bay. 20 minutes away is Sauble Beach - the worlds second longest freshwater beach. 20 minutes north of Wiarton - there is a lovely beach in the Hamlet of Hope Bay. Or take a hike into Spirit Rock Conservation Area and find your own private beach on the shores of Georgian Bay.

WIARTON WILLIE FESTIVAL
Of course winter would not be complete without the fun of the Wiarton Willie Festival - Canada's Foremost Weather Prognosticator Wiarton Willie lives in Wiarton. As Ambassador for the area Willie leads residents and visitors alike through a winter break in February and holds them in anticipation as to whether spring will come sooner or later. The entire community participates in this annual celebration.
