Wake up to the sun rising over the bay and eat your breakfast on our huge deck over-looking the water. Spend the day exploring the Bruce Trail, or visit Fathom Five National Marine Park or Bruce Peninsula National Park. Return in the evening to the sun setting over the cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment and sleep to the sounds of nature. There are many activities for you to enjoy close to Bear Pause B&B - and Bear Pause is located central to them all.

Cape Chin North is a special area. As you drive down the winding road towards The Bear Pause B&B watch out for the sandhill cranes who nest in the marshes close to the road. Keep an eye towards the sky and you may get a glimpse of a bald eagle as it soars overhead. Bear Pause B&B is located directly on the World Biosphere ordained Niagara Escarpment. The cottage is surrounded by protected land - with the famous Bruce Trail only minutes from your door step.
Bear Pause B&B is a newly built home located waterfront - on the shores of Cape Chin on Georgian Bay. The towering 2 story high windows at the front of the cottage allows you a gorgeous view of the bay - and our huge deck is a wonderful place to relax and listen to the sounds of nature. Enjoy your breakfast out on the deck, down by the waterside - or inside in the open concept living space.
Our waterfront is situated on the beautiful stoney shoreline of Cape Chin. The waters here are clean and crystal clear - swimming in summer is great! Or sit in a lounge chair and enjoy the fantastic views of the limestone cliffs of the Niagara Escapement.

There are 2 well-appointed rooms available for guests. They are located together as a suite or as 2 rooms with a shared bath. The rooms are wonderfully decorated with many nature features like log framed queen beds and hand-crafted wooden side tables.
The bathroom is equipped with a tub & shower.

Malcolm picked it right. The "Bruce" I, love the isolation, rugged climate that drifts between the warm and cold zones. The crazy winds. The variation of blues in Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, combined with the wild life, extraordinary sunsets has captured my spirit. Being South American to the bone, its just not right, but it is!!! Love it, Love it. hmmmm.
"Bear Pause" was peaceful, a dreamlike tranquility filled the great room. Relaxing, comforting, inviting and the atmosphere of peace that you, Fred, created, with the cool classical music combined with the awesome view from the multitude of windows. Your breakfast feast were great. Time well spent. The cottage is coming along marvelously. Bruce where did you find that candle at the front door, and we missed saying hello to you. Maybe next time. Coming from a person that has a limited sense of smell, its so sensual and relaxing as you walk in to the breathtaking atmosphere of the cottage.
Just had to let you both know, "Bear Pause" is an awesome and very inviting place to stay. Felt very welcome and we loved our stay.......the hummingbirds, the chippys, the extraordinary sky filled with diamonds at night.
We had a blast...thank you Fred and Bruce for sharing such a wonderful and private place of yours!!
